Moon

I had my students create a full moon. Students did circles with glue and let them dry. These circles represented the craters on the moon. Once that was complete, they painted using Tempra paint. Students were to write about the moon. One strategy I use is to write sentences depending on their age. My kids love it.

Black true color

In the summer I attend some summer training. In one of the training we did some science experiments. We used a coffee filter and a vis a vis marker (black). We did dots on the filter. We made a hole in the middle and inserted a brown paper towel that was dipped in water. As the water was being absorbed by the paper into the filter you would see the true color of black. This experiment only works with black vis a vis markers. Students will love to see how black is really made. Have fun!

Parts of a plant

I used this so students could label parts of a plant in Spanish. We used contruction paper, coffee filter and crayons. It was a simple task. Kids loved it. I wasn't able to share with you guys but am back. I share any creative ideas I come across.

Parts of a Plant

We have gone over the parts of a plant. I sent home a sunflower printout. Students were to create the flower using stuff found around the house. (Example macaroni, beans, rice, etc). They had to label the parts of the plants. I teach science in Spanish so some of the pictures are in Spanish. But they came out some beautiful.

Science Interactive Journals

I have tried to make science as fun as possible. I have students decorate a notebook where they can put their assignments. I has worked well with my students. On one side the students write notes and the other they glue whatever I given them.
